The project provides for a rail transit route running from East Kapolei to Ala Moana Center, with stations at 21 key commuter and visitor destinations, including Aloha Stadium, Pearl Harbor, Honolulu International Airport and downtown Honolulu, Oahu’s core commercial and business center. The first phase of the project, linking East Kapolei and Aloha Stadium, is scheduled to open in late 2020, while the second phase of the project continuing the line to Ala Moana Center across urban Honolulu is due to open in December 2025.

UMS is completing a Phase 1 utility investigation for the City Center Guideway and Stations (CCGS) project.  The CCGS completes the eastern segment currently under construction across the island of Oahu. UMS work on this project has consisted of mapping existing utilities along an approximately 5-mile long corridor to provide utility information for design and construction coordination.

Following the Phase 1 utility investigation, UMS entered into a contract with one of the lead design firms to develop a 3-D existing utility model of the infrastructure mapped.  UMS utilized a specialized utility data management system, to create the 3-D model in Civil 3D and Navisworks.  The model will be integrated into the project building information modeling (BIM) to further enable the design team to coordinate with utility owners and develop designs which mitigate risk, and will likewise be used to facilitate construction activities.
